BEST, THE NETHERLANDS
Gabriela & Stephan
Love in Three Languages
Some weddings are perfectly orchestrated. Every moment planned, every detail in its place.
And then there are weddings like Gabriela and Stephan's - where the chaos is the magic.
He's Dutch. Calm, considered, quietly in love in the way introverts are - deeply and without needing to announce it. She's Mexican. Warm, expressive, the kind of energy that fills a room before she even walks in. Together they make absolutely no sense on paper. Together they make complete sense in real life.
Their guests reflected everything they are - Dutch reserve and Mexican warmth.
The ceremony was conducted in three languages. Dutch. English. Spanish. At times a little chaotic, at moments genuinely confusing, and throughout it all - completely, perfectly beautiful. Because every language spoken was for someone in that room who needed to hear it. Nobody was an outsider. Everyone belonged.
Stephan stood at the front with that quiet stillness that said everything. Gabriela arrived and lit up the entire room - because of course she did.
There were tears in three languages too.
This wasn't a wedding that followed a script. It moved, shifted, surprised - and that's exactly what made it unforgettable. The kind of day where you put the shot list away and just follow the energy, because the energy knows where it's going.
Next year, Mexico. The big celebration, the extended family, the full expression of Gabriela's culture on home soil. And that day will be extraordinary.
But this one - this beautifully chaotic, trilingual, cross-cultural Dutch afternoon - this was something all on its own.
Beautiful Chaos
